Practice Closure - Staff training

The Practice will be closed between 12 noon and 13:15 on Wednesday 25th May for staff training. 

Practice Closure - May Bank Holiday

We are closed on Monday 2nd May for the Bank Holiday and reopen on Tuesday 3rd May at 8am. If you have an urgent medical need please phone 111 or if it's a life threatening emergency 999.

We are closed for the Easter holiday weekend from Thursday 14th April at 18:30 and will reopen on Tuesday 19th April at 8:00.

Boosters UPDATE - 16th December 2021

If you are aged over 18 and had your second COVID vaccination at least 3 months ago please contact the Practice to book in for your Booster. 

FLU Update 

If you are over 50 or over 18 with underlying health conditions please contact the Practice for your flu vaccination. These can be given either on the same day as your COVID booster or at least 7 days apart. 

Residents in England who have received COVID-19 vaccinations overseas 9th December 2021

From 9th December 2021, if you live in England and have had one or more of your COVID-19 vaccinations administered overseas, you can have your vaccination details added to your NHS Record. You can then generate an NHS COVID Pass for domestic use and international travel if you meet certain certification requirements.

You can use this service if you've had one or more of the following vaccines: 

• Moderna
• AstraZeneca
• Pfizer
• Janssen

There are a small number of countries where this service will not be enabled

COVID Boosters 01st December 2021

We are currently offering Boosters for those patients over 40 who completed their Primary Course 5 months ago and are awaiting details as to when we are able to offer these below this age and after 3 months.

Flu Vaccinations - 2021/22

If you are over 65 and not yet been contacted for your flu vaccination please phone the surgery. We have a number of appointments available including Saturday 2nd October between 9am and 12noon.

If you are less than 65 and have underlying health conditions we have now received our first flu delivery for this season so please book in for your vaccination. Flu vaccinations are now also available for all patients over the age of 50 so please contact the surgery and book in. 

Covid Vaccination News 30 September 2021

We have recently started the COVID Booster programme. This can be given to all patients over 50 who have completed their second dose 6 months ago. If you have not yet heard from the surgery and it is over 6 months since your second dose please book in for your Booster.

If you are a Priory Gate patient aged 18 or over and have yet to receive your vaccination please phone us to enable you to book in. If you have previously declined your vaccine and now wish to go ahead please contact the reception team.

We have a small number of patients with incorrect contact details so please check this with us when you phone.

We may well be contacting you by text message and these are often sent at weekends.

Our lead vaccine for first dose patient under 40 is Pfizer.

If you have previously advised that you do not want a COVID vaccination and have now changed your mind please contact the reception team and we will book you in.  

Parkrun- Memorial Park Coventry

Priory Gate Practice is now a Registered Parkrun Practice and we plan to be running at 9am in the Memorial Park in Coventry. If you are interested. If you wish to join us follow the link below and register. We will post on here when staff are running.

Patient Participation Group

Priory Gate is looking to expand our Patient Participation Group. The Group meet quarterly and support the Practice with a range of activities. The Partners and staff were delighted to be shortlisted for 5 awards ( more than any other Practice of the 65 that make up the Alliance) and Dr Tyrrell was thrilled to receive her award.

Extended Hours Appointments

Priory Gate have formed an alliance with a number of Practices across the city and are now able to offer telephone and face to face appointments between 6.30pm and 9.45pm between Monday to Friday and at daytime on Saturday  If you wish to benefit from these appointments please contact our reception team before 6.30pm on Monday to Friday.

Access to Medical Records

All patients now have the right to access some of their medical records online. Please send an email to the Practice if you would like this facility: priory.gate@nhs.net

Cancelled or Did Not Attend Appointments

If you are unable to attend an appointment at Priory Gate please contact us at the earliest opportunity to enable the appointment to be made available to other patients. The cost to the NHS for one week of missed appointments is usually around £2000.

Yellow Fever Clinic

Priory Gate is authorised to provide Yellow Fever vaccinations. Our Prescribing Nurse Dawn Baker has undertaken appropriate training for this service. The cost of this service is £60 per patient and this includes a certificate with the vaccination. Duplicate certificates if they are needed can be provided for £10.
